January 17, 2018 : A lecture will be given by Dr. Francesco Giacobbe entitled "The Last Classical Painter Amedeo Modigliani."   It will take place at the CCI Building, 1510 Hertel Ave. on Wednesday, January 17th at 7:00 pm.

January 31, 2018 : CCI will be showing an Italian movie on Wednesday, Jan 31st at 7PM.   The movie will be shown at the Centro Culturale, 1510 Hertel Ave.

A Federico Fellini's comedy-drama, "I Vitelloni," opened on 1953 to both commercial and critical success .Awarded the Silver Lion at the 1953 Venice International Festival, the film launched the career of Alberto Sordi, one of post-war Italy's most significant and popular comedians. Five young man linger in a postadolescent limbo, dreaming of adventure and escape from their small seacoast town. They while away their time spending the lira doled out by their indulgent families on drink, women and nights at the local pool hall"

February 28, 2018 : Film Screening of Amarcord" being shown on Wednesday, February 28th at 7:00 p.m.  The film will be shown at CCI office, 1510 Hertel Ave. Buffalo, N.Y. The film is a charming series of vignettes set in Fellini's seaside hometown during his childhood in 1930's Italy. April 25, 2018, 7:00 p.m. : Film Screening of ILPostino (The Postman)being The film will be shown at CCI office, 1510 Hertel Ave. Buffalo, N.Y. The film is directed by Michael Radford and Massimo Troisi, tells a story in which the real life Chilean poet Pable Neruda forms a relationship with a simple postman who learns to love poetry. Writer and star Massimo Troisi posphoned heart surgery so that he could complete the film. The day after the filming was completed, he suffered a fatal heart attack. Story time in italiano!
Join us Wednesday July 11 at 7:00 p.m. 1510 Hertel Avenue for another fun-filled afternoon learning the Italian language through imagination, onomatopea, and adventure! 
Our second reading features Nel paese dei mostri selvaggi (Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are in translation).
Appropriate for ages 3-99, and no prior knowledge of Italian is required!
Crafts and light refreshments will follow.
Admission is free and event is open to all, but seating is limited.

Aug 9, 2018 @ 6:30pm : At the Grand Island Memorial Library, 1715 Bedell Rd, Grand Islan NY Sal Bordonaro will present two travelogues of trips to Italy and Sicily.  "Italian Tapestry": a nine day tour of Italy with stops in Venice, Modena, Florence Siena, Pienza, Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri.
